They say a picture speaks a thousand words, so for this post I thought I’d let the photos do the talking and see if I can tempt you to visit the Lake District in the near future!
For this post I set myself the challenge of including photographs containing views from throughout the year, which haven’t appeared on the blog before. Some of the images were snapped on a smartphone, and others on my SLR camera – but all are from relatively accessible vantage points at low level, rather than from the fells. Here’s what I came up with!
Are you planning to visit the Lake District soon? If so, let us know which parts of the Lakes are on your list of things to see by leaving a comment below!
Hello, I'm Janine, and I'm exploring the Lake District in search of the area's very best hidden gems! If, like me, you love the Lakes and enjoy the simple things in life (you won't find me in the mountains on this blog, but maybe in a tearoom!), join me again to read more about my latest local finds and adventures.

The views in the Lakes are fantastic whatever the time of year, so I do hope you can join us here in 2017 – whether it will be your first time in the Lakes or you have visited many times before.
I love the lake district whether it’s just tramping around with the family exploring new places or work related. Lovely images here esp. the Monk Coniston view
Thank you Martin – it’s great to hear you enjoyed the post. Yes, the Lakes is a fantastic place, with so many varied landscapes in such as small area. The Monk Coniston view is one of my favourite finds (recommended to me back in the autumn by the Gondola crew) as it’s so easy to stop there if you’re passing in the car, but also so easy to miss if you don’t know it’s there!
I found Monk Coniston hotel when I was asked to photograph a wedding Janine there’s stunning views down Lake Coniston from the hotel grounds which I would imagine many walkers would use as their base. Nice photography Janine !

Sounds like a lovely setting for wedding phohtography – the views from Brantwood on a sunny day were amazing!
