Country Fest 2015 in pictures

Today the rain had gone away and at times the sun was shining, so this afternoon I made my way to Country Fest, which is an annual show organised by the Westmorland County Agricultural Society (organisers of the Westmorland County Show) and held at the County Showfield, Crooklands.

Happily tired out from all that fresh air and the brisk breeze you come to expect at many country shows, I share some of my favourite images from the afternoon.

A kite flying display taking place behind Country Fest
Chainsaw carvings for sale
Classic cars from Lakeland Historic Car Club
Inside the food tent
These enormous pastries don’t look nearly as large in a photo!
The new Kendal Mintcake Vodka by producer Mint Drinks Company – and I heard it tastes very good too (I was driving again, of course…!)
Kangaroo what? I must confess, I’ve heard of these before…
…but I’d not heard of these!
And now to the vintage tent…
There were also lots of crafts on display
Products made from Herdwick wool
A lovely new home for some very lucky chickens
Big red tractors – so I had to take a picture!
Meet Genevieve…
…and her lovely calf Len
And look at these divine little piglets!
I first met Mary the Ayrshire at the Kendal Festival of Food – I think she was being a little bit naughty here though!
And it wasn’t just the live animals who were cute!
